Process Measurement and Data Storage Inside a Thermal Spray Gun

A. Kilchenmann, U. Rüedi, Sulzer Metco AG (Switzerland), Wohlen, Switzerland

The measurement of process variables as close as possible to the gun becomes more and more important by the rising quality request on thermal coatings. This paper introduces a new product which measures process variables directly inside a thermal spray gun. It explains the advantages of measuring the process variables inside the gun, but also why it is important to have gun relevant data stored directly inside the gun.
