Advanced Modeling and Rule Extraction for Process Optimization and Prognostics

W. H. VerDuin, VerTech LLC., Chagrin Falls, OH

Advanced software technologies, in combination with statistical methods and first-principle models, have been developed and demonstrated to provide significant capabilities in modeling and decision support. Applications include process optimization to improve quality and reduce costs and environmental impact. Applications also include machine health monitoring and prognostics. This presentation will review the nature and benefits of neuro-fuzzy technology, its integration with statistical and first-principles methods, and applications including manufacturing process optimization and aero engine prognostics.
