A. J. Barnes, M. reynolds, Superform USA, Riverside, CA

View in WORD format

Summary:

Superform USA has a growing list of production implementation success stories for automotive, aerospace, rail, architectural and many other key SPF market segments. There is a growing database of new superplastic formable aluminum alloys that are tailored for specific applications, such as corrosion resistant alloys developed for medium-volume production rate fabrication of automotive body panels and stronger materials for aerospace structural applications. The authors will also present recommended detail design techniques to optimize the process and lower assembly costs through monolithic panel design.
