Overview:

Champion: D. G. Sanders, The Boeing Company, Seattle, Washington Description: Superplastic Forming has come alive in 2005! <--- (BOLD LETTERS) This technical program focuses on issues pertaining to the advancement of superplasticity as a material science and as a new manufacturing technology for commercial markets. Superplastic Forming is gaining interest in many manufacturing segments and is being transitioned from a low-volume and prototyping process into mainstream production. Key researchers and manufacturing technologists from across the United States and other countries will provide materials science research on titanium, aluminum, metal matrix composites, diffusion bonding and ceramics. Industrial applications of SPF to be discussed include commercial airframes, aerospace structure, automotive, architecture, rail and consumer goods
