This program will focus on recent research and development in the areas of high strength, high toughness, high corrosion resistance steels. The work presented will cover: Physical metallurgy of alloying additions in ultra high strength, high toughness steels for aircraft applications Novel manufacturing methods used in the development of and application to advanced aerospace components Clarification of the metallurgical, mechanical and corrosion characteristics of high strength steels Current developments in various aerospace steels, including AerMet 100-type steels and stainless steels
