Overview:
Recent advances in sensor technologies, material state awareness, health monitoring and life prediction models are revolutionizing component inspections and life management, and will significantly improve the reliability and airworthiness of aerospace systems. Several key advances provide the focus areas for this Material / Structural State Awareness and Prognosis program. This program will focus on the technologies required for integrated damage prognosis and life prediction, enhancing reliability/safety, lowering maintenance costs, and improving the performance and operational efficiency of current and future aerospace systems. Presentations will cover: Emerging structural health monitoring technologies for aerospace applications High temperature health monitoring Computational methods and advanced material state awareness techniques, and Materials damage assessment techniques and prognosis models for prediction of remaining useful life
