Overview:

This program focuses on recent research and development in the areas of high strength, high toughness, and high corrosionresistance steels. The work presented will cover: Physical metallurgy of alloying additions in ultra high strength, high toughness steels for aircraft applications; Novel manufacturing methods for high strength steels used in advanced aerospace components; Clarification of the metallurgical, mechanical and corrosion characteristics of high strength steels; Current developments in various aerospace steels, including AeroMat 100-type steels and stainless steels
