Overview:

The “Light High Performance Alloys and Structures” (LHPAS) sessions consist of research, development and applications of aluminum, magnesium, beryllium base alloys and hybrid materials based on the previous alloy systems. The technical presentations address subjects ranging from alloy development to all processes involved in the manufacture of structures. This program focuses on the weight reduction of aerospace and space structures through optimizing the use of advanced materials, structural design and advanced manufacturing. Topics on Hybrid materials and the interface between metallic components and composites (CFRP) are included. Case studies evaluating metallic and composite structures are presented and discussed. In addition, evaluations of performance of structural subcomponents, components and trade-studies are presented.
