Overview:

Modeling and simulation tools are being developed at unprecedented rates and are implemented within the aerospace community to provide guidance for new product introduction. These tools are being applied to component, material and process development and optimization with the goal of reducing the risk for new designs, materials and manufacturing methods. Cost and development cycle savings are being realized through the use of modeling and simulation tools. Presentations within this topic include discussions on development and application of modeling tools for high temperature materials, alloy design, joining, machining processes, residual stress and component performance optimization.
