TIMETAL 54M is a new alpha-beta alloy that has demonstrated improved machinability over Ti 6-4 with similar mechanical properties.  A large database of tensile mechanical properties has been successfully developed for Electron Beam Single Melt forged products for industrial applications. Recent evaluations of TIMETAL 54M have focused on aerospace grades manufactured by multiple VAR. Several product forms, including forgings, forged billet, and round bar, were processed using standard aerospace routes.  Heat treatments, microstructures, and corresponding static, fatigue, and fracture properties of these products are presented here in comparison to Ti 6-4 properties.
