A. J. Barnes, Superform USA, Riverside, CA; M. Niedzinski, Alcan Aerospace, Chicago, IL; B. Bes, Alcan CRV, Voreppe, Cedex, France; S. Houdusse, Alcan Rhenalu, Issoire Cedex, France

For more than twenty years Superplastic aluminum formed parts have been deployed in space related applications. These have included launch vehicle and payload fairing covers as well as micro-meteoriod shielding. During this time several superlastic alloys, including 2004,7475and 5083 have been successfully utilized. This presentation compares the superplastic and mechanical properties of 2195 to these alloys and the other beneficial chacteristics that this alloy would bring to future space related applications.
