TIMETAL 639 (Ti-6.5Al-1.7Mo-1.7V-0.36Si) is a newly developed high strength alpha-beta titanium alloy offering higher strength than Ti64 at room and elevated temperatures with similar density and nearly equivalent ductility. The alloy also shows higher specific modulus compared to Ti64. This paper will discuss various properties of Ti639 in comparison to other titanium alloys.
