Titanium aluminides provide an alternative to nickel-based superalloys in applications that demand low density as well as creep resistance at or above 650°C. Aerospace engine manufacturers around the world are actively implementing this family of alloys into new designs for the purposes of increasing engine efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.  With production engine programs spurring acceptance and growth of this enabling alloy technology, is the titanium aluminide supply chain capable of such growth?  ATI is a vertically integrated company with a 23-year history of developing manufacturing routes for titanium aluminides.  As a leader in providing advanced specialty metals, ATI is capable of delivering the high levels of chemical homogeneity and specific microstructures necessary to optimize properties in titanium aluminides. This presentation will describe the capabilities of ATI, the macro- and micro-homogeneity of the material we produce, and some of our recent product developments in this exciting field.
