A series of experiments were performed at PSU/ARL using Optomec LENS, directed energy laser deposition equipment.  Fin and “L” shaped deposits were built, using Ti6-4 powder. A multi-sensor suite was used to measure temperatures of the deposit melt pool and sides of the deposit, during deposition.  An FEA analysis of the deposition was performed for comparison with the experimental measurements.
