Integrated product development teams and computational methods have received significant attention in recent years as a means to accelerate new material insertion and reduce cost in the product development cycle.  Customer performance metrics such as density, weight, strength, toughness, formability, weldability, and others, continue to drive suppliers to provide innovative solutions with deeper integration throughout the supply chain.  In this talk we describe key process modeling capabilities recently deployed at Alcoa and provide examples of integration through the process chain from research to production to the customer.  The examples span the range of extrusion die modeling, forging die design, and ongoing research for a residual stress quality management system.
