Monday, June 16, 2014: 3:30 PM
Florida Hall A (Gaylord Palms Resort )
Mrs. Dawne Hickton , RTI International Metals, Inc., Coraopolis, PA
It is an exciting time for titanium manufacturers and suppliers as the ramp begins to production of historical numbers of commercial aircraft.  Orders for aircraft have reached record levels, with the largest production backlog in history.  What factors currently influence titanium demand in commercial aircraft?   Mrs. Hickton will discuss the effects of the production ramp on the supply chain, highlighting the risks and problem solving strategies relating to the multifaceted, global production of today’s aircraft.  Using her first-hand experiences, she will focus on how supplier integration can transform a company from a Tier 4 producer of base material to a vertically integrated Tier 1 producer of advanced engineered services and precision machined parts in the competitive aerospace industry.
