Recent and emerging commercial aircraft programs have selected AIRWARE® technology in various products forms for applications in the fuselage including bare exterior skin, stringers, floor structure and seat tracks, window frames, and large internal components.  AIRWARE® products such as 2198 sheets, 2196 extrusions and 2050 plates presented in previous Aeromat conferences are now produced regularly and were the driver for the ongoing construction of a second new cast house in the Constellium facility in Issoire, France announced in April 2014.

Constellium continues to innovate new lightweight, fully recyclable solutions derived from high performance AIRWARE® technology. This presentation will review the maturation of selected new fuselage products including AIRWARE® 2065 extrusions and AW25X sheets.  Further, through partnerships in forging manufacturing, customers have access to AIRWARE® 2050 material in die forging configurations.  These additional product forms will allow for additional weight savings and performance improvement opportunities.

Also included in the presentation will be an overview of Constellium manufacturing facility in Ussel, France which manufactures aluminium sand casting products including aircraft emergency and passenger doors/hinges. Ussel specializes in complex parts with cast-in ducts, large structural castings with thin walls, and also offers both upstream and downstream capabilities.
