Additive Manufacturing Strategy

 

TWI has been active in laser blown powder for 20 years and laser powder bed additive manufacture for 10 years, and has moved into EB powder bed and EB wire fed AM in recent years. It has developed expertise in modelling, toplogy optimisation, design of parts and in process and post process non-destructive inspection. This will be covered in the presentation along with a new project on powder quality that TWI is involved in with a number of UK partners.

In addition this presentation will cover TWI’s involvement in the UK National AM Strategy, the European Strategic Joining Platform on AM, and work to help develop standards for the civil and defence areas of the aerospace business.
