With the recent temper registration, 7155-T76 drawn tubing has been developed as a replacement for 7075-T6 drawn tube products in the 0.045” to 0.125” wall thickness range with higher strength (85ksi ultimate and 82ksi yield) and improved SCC corrosion properties (40ksi LT). 7155-T76 is targeted at the aerospace industry with opportunities for weight savings through redesign in existing and future programs. This presentation will cover the manufacturing, characterization, and commercialization of 7155-T76 drawn tubes along with an update on the AMS approval status.
