The present work on electron beam welding was successfully applied to join Ti-6Al-4V alloy which will eliminates “trial and error” method by providing a reliable model which can predict the right combination of weld parameters to achieve a high-quality weld. Electron beam welding parameters such as accelerating voltage, beam current and welding speed was selected with the objective of full weld depth penetration with minimum weld bead width. For the optimization of welding parameters Taguchi approach was used as statistical design of experimental technique. From the experimental results it is found that the effect of welding parameters on the welding quality decreased in order of welding speed, beam current and accelerating voltage. The optimal combination of welding parameters is the accelerating voltage 50kV, beam current 60mA and welding speed 1000mm/min. One more set of experiment at same parameters was conducted to validate the optimized parameters.
