CORSAIR (Cold Spray Radical Solutions for Improved Aeronautical Repairs) is a European Union funded collaborative project with 13 industrial and research partners. This 3-year project started in 2013 and is currently reaching its conclusion. The goals of the project include process technology, parameter and materials development. TWI has been responsible for the development of parameters for the deposition of Ti-6Al-4V and Al alloy C355 with the Impact Innovations 5/11 cold spray system. A summary of the main results of coating characterisation (coating density, microstructure), mechanical testing (fatigue, adhesion, cohesion), wear resistance and corrosion resistance will be presented including the effects of post-deposition heat treatment.
