Cold spray technology emerged as a practical technology in the 1980’s from the Russian Academy of Sciences in Novosibirsk.  Over thirty years later, the commercial implementation of this technology continues to grow stronger in aerospace.  Aerospace continues to pioneer the commercial implementation of cold spray technology in applications such as dimensional restoration, corrosion repair, and seal surface repair of non-critical high value aircraft components with tight tolerances and extreme heat sensitivity.  Because of its beneficial attributes, cold spray is also being considered as a key technology in emerging fields such as re-manufacturing and additive manufacturing.  This presentation depicts the new advances on equipment, materials, and methods used in various commercial Aerospace applications in North America.
