Toughness of welded Joint is one of the most important properties considering the strength of the Weld Joint. The Charpy Impact toughness of weld joint in Metal Arc Gas (MAG) process is widely used in several fabrication process. A very particular question, that arises in mind is unpredictable nature of weld joint. It is also a fact that, in every welding, some amount of doubt always exists in all reported results.

In this experiment, a sincere attempt has been made to evaluate the measurements of uncertainty (MOU) in Charpy V notch impact toughness of welded steel plate. The result obtained during the experiments show that MOU value of impact toughness of weld joints is more than that of the impact toughness value of base plate, which means, results of toughness on weld joint are less acceptable then that of the base metal. Hence, special care and rigorous methods to be carried out to achieve the results having higher acceptability and reliability.
