Developing AC capabilities at Aleris

To answer customers’ expectations and support the move of manufacturing capabilities to Asia Pacific, Aleris has invested into a state of the art rolling mill in Zhenjiang, China. Added to the historical plant in Koblenz, Germany, this allows Aleris to cover global and local OEMs demands. The alloy portfolio has been completed, widely covering customers’ needs, including advanced high strength and high damage tolerance material. The equivalence between the two plants has been demonstrated to allow local for local supply and ensure the security of supply. Large size machining capabilities have been added in Zhenjiang, opening the way towards vertical integration with closed loop recycling.
