SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS as ENABLER for an END-TO-END GREEN AIRFRAME

Aviation industry is getting prepared for zero emission flight. To complete the picture and guarantee a neutral eco-footprint for our production of aircraft, Airbus ambition is to establish a complete sustainable processing chain from cradle to grave. This comprises mining of basic minerals, petro-chemical processing, logistics, manufacture of semi-finished materials, their further processing at our manufacturing plants incl. supply chain, keeping in-service, and end-of-life aspects for dismantling, re-use and recycling. The presentation will give some prominent examples and a complete overview of related efforts at Airbus.
