J. J. Park, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Los Alamos, NM

View in WORD format

Summary: Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) Plutonium Facility processes large amount of plutonium (Pu) and Pu alloys. All plutonium processing is performed inside of a glovebox. Some plutonium parts are heat treated. The equipment used for the heat treatment is composed of; glovebox, furnace, furnace controller, data acquisition computer, inert gas purification system, oxygen analyzer, and thermocouples. A pilot program to establish preventive maintenance activities of the equipment has been developed. This paper will describe the maintenance of the equipment.
