Summary: For the past 20 years the Nocoloc technology has been the standard for aluminum brazing. The recent increase in competition among automotive parts manufacturers has required a drastic reduction in production costs and improvements in energy savings. KYK Co., who have built more than 200 Nocolok brazing furnaces, has recently introduced a new technology based on its patented Oxynon design. This study reports on a new mesh belt brazing furnace, OxynonCAB, that uses graphite based materials for the inner furnace walls, achieving an extremely low oxygen level to reduce flux consumption, permitting fast convective heating, and reducing operating and maintenance costs.
