Discussions of progress in SCR and IGBT device technology with greater current carrying capabilities that leads to fewer devices, wider tuning windows and varying frequencies ranges. At the same time these more powerfully devices make power supplies smaller footprints & simpler to set up and operate. Wider tuning windows make it easier to load match with fewer manual adjustments to the capacitors and the output transformer even when changing work piece size or coil changes. Many design improvements lead to less capitol cost and higher electrical efficiencies that reduce the operating costs of induction systems all will be reviewed in this presentation.
