In the heat treating industry vacuum processing of non ferrous alloys tends to be dificult. This presentation will review alloys that can be processed in vacuum and results expected. The evaporation of alloying elements and how to avoid this will be reviewed. If certain practices are not followed alloys will be reduced via vapor pressure. Product loss, and or equipment damage can happen if certain processing parameters are not followed correctly.
Best practices will be reviewed on how to eliminaate this and how to produce a satisfactory end product.
