Good understanding of complex processes taking place during induction heat treating is mandatory for effective development and use of induction technique. Traditional books and other materials for teaching and learning induction heating are based on very simplified description of physical phenomena and practical data that give limited information about processes. Program of Electro Thermal Analysis (ELTA) is widely used by research groups, equipment manufacturing companies and induction heat treaters for preliminary design of induction processes and inductors, equipment selection etc. This presentation is mainly focused on the use of ELTA for education, training and self-education in the field of induction heating in general and specifically in heat treating.
