The article describes achievements and applications of new generation of HPGQ vacuum furnaces. Implementation of 25 bar quenching enables reaching hardening properties compared to the oil while vacuum carburizing and nitriding addition create great potential of running different heat treatment and thermo-chemical processes as well as multi-processes combined in a single furnace cycle. There is presented technical and technological aspects of a furnace exploitation and considered operational costs reduction and energy saving.
