RA602CA® is a relatively new nickel based heat resistant alloy, with an oxidation limit of 2250°F.  The chemistry is controlled to get a continuous, adherant alumina scale. Microalloying allows fine carbides as well as larger Cr23C6 particles and results in excellent creep strength.

This paper will discuss the mechanisms that contribute to the excellent oxidation and creep strength, describe additional properties i.e. resistance to grain growth at higher temperatures, and applications and benefits of using this alloy for furnace components and parts including radiant tubes, heat treating fixtures for ues to 2250F, muffles,  aluminizing retorts, and new applications.  One example is radiant tubes, using only 11 gage sheet.  The first installed tube is in its ninth year of service in a carburizing furnace operating at 1750F with carbon potentials as high as 1.6%
