Ti-6Al-4V alloy is considered as a workhorse of titanium industry. It uses for about 60 percent of the total titanium alloy production. It has a major importance due to the various properties such as high strength to weight ratio and superior mechanical properties. Purpose of this study was to find out the trend of mechanical properties and microstructural changes with respect to deformation and various heat treatments. Accordingly the heat treatment such as Mill annealing, Solution treatment plus aging and Beta solution treatment plus aging were carried out on deformed and non-deformed material. Heat treated samples were characterized using metallographic technique. Different tests like fracture toughness test, tensile test, microstructure analysis, etc. were done for heat treated samples; major variations in mechanical properties and microstructures were found out. Fracture toughness was found to be increased from Mill annealed to Beta solution treatment; reasons for this were analyzed.
