Metallurgical process or material science has extended into a new domain through artificial intelligence. The push to increase process optimization, capacity increase with less energy and improved quality has pushed the industry towards machine learning. This is performed using computer modeling involving artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual environment. Computer simulations have replaced traditional laboratories by using virtual laboratories and virtual tools enabling the research of new materials, including prototyping, performance testing, verification, and lifecycle assessment. The virtual environment has increased data gathering and machine learning capabilities. The development of materials can be divided into several stages. The process time of a new material from research and development to market is long, taking years or decades. To shorten the development cycle, material scientists have started to apply artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to accelerate material discovery, and promote the application of new materials The proficiency of artificial intelligent (AI) techniques is not only limited to alloy development, failure analyses, stress calculations, phase transformation and other materials development but has been explored in almost every field of human activities. AI can be used in the diagnosis, treatment and predicting outcome in many clinical scenarios and analyzing complex medical data.
