There is ever increasing focus on carbon emissions and their effect on climate change. Industry is being asked to develop a baseline of the emissions from their operations and develop plans for reduction. The heat treat industry consumes considerable energy when heating materials during operations and as a result generates significant carbon emissions. Greenhouse gas emissions can be reduced with proper furnace design, modern combustion equipment, and electrification. The goal is to get a solid balance between cost and meaningful carbon reduction for electric conversion and high efficiency combustion systems. The result will be improved efficiency and a cleaner process for the environment.
