Alloy trays and fixtures are an integral component in a heat treat operation. Maintaining furnace and associated equipment operation along with maintaining the alloy trays and fixtures functionality are essential to maximizing the heat treat operation throughput.

Unplanned and unscheduled downtime in a heat treat operation is an unwanted occurrence. Although there are many potential reasons for downtime instances, the mishandling of alloy trays and fixtures by furnace mechanical motion systems is one such potential issue. Periodic inspection of alloy trays and fixtures is a method to minimize product mishandling due to tray or fixture variation or inconsistency.

This session will discuss and present practical guidelines for periodic inspection and monitoring of alloy trays and fixtures in support of minimizing potential tray and fixture handling issues and maximizing heat treat operation productivity and throughput.
