Hot rolling is a steel forming technique used to achieve the required dimensions and mechanical properties, as well as a satisfactory rolled surface quality. Pearlitic steels can exhibit different mechanical properties depending on the cooling rate, the austenitizing temperature, and the transformation temperatures, in addition to the alloying elements present in the base material. By properly controlling these parameters, the mechanical properties of this microconstituent can be improved, such as its interlamellar spacing, yield strength, and wear resistance. This work aims to study the influence of hot rolling, and controlled cooling on the mechanical properties of a steel with 0.6% C.
