In today’s brazing environment more and more companies are having components-to-be-brazed made outside their plant, and then brought in for subsequent assembly and brazing. When assemblies do not braze properly, internal brazing personnel and operations are challenged re the deficiencies, when the cause may be external, not internal. It is critical that companies carefully monitor and “control” the vendor’s sub-component production re lubricants used, grit-blasting/grinding operations, etc., since poor surface prep by outside vendors could unknowingly ruin your in-house brazing operations. Similarly, “controlling” your customer’s brazing requirements can make your inhouse brazing operations much smoother.
