Session 11: Light Metal Joining
Location: Executive Salon 4 (Crowne Plaza Riverwalk San Antonio)
(Please check final room assignments on-site).
Session Description: The use of light metals such as aluminum, titanium and magnesium is growing in interest in military equipment, transportation systems, energy and chemical processing equipment and in high performance sports equipment. Engineers in this field will find this session useful in updating themselves on the advances of braze joining of such metals. Presentations include brazing of titanium structures for survivability in military systems, the study of soldered joining of magnesium alloys and dissimilar materials, emerging water-soluble aluminum brazing processes, and the brazing of titanium and intermetallic Gamma-TiAl.
