Brazing of low alloyed steel with copper and copper oxide is widely known in world practice of brazing. But information about brazing with copper salts is scanty. Some years ago a manufacture of non-tube steel heat-exchangers was successful started in Russia. These heat-exchangers consist of pressed elements collected in form with tube inside one. The brazing process and joint formation have been investigated by use of copper hydro carbonate, i.e. “Malachit”. Some ways of wide gap brazing was considered for this case and influence of furnace atmosphere was investigated. The finish product is heat-exchanger, brazed and coated by copper alloy along all surface.
