Higher operating temperatures in both industrial and aero engines have necessitated the application of the highest performing superalloys.  Repair and restoration of these hot gas path components requires novel materials and processes to assure continued performance, post-repair.  To meet these demands, presintered preforms and similar solid articles have been utilized to build up surfaces while maintaining the critical environmental resistance properties of the gas path surface.  This presentation is an overview and update of such braze preform applications.
