Title: The Evolution of Bulk residual stress and distortion modeling under the Metals Affordability Initiative
Abstract Text:
A summary of the completed Metals Affordability Initiative (MAI) programs, related to the prediction of bulk residual stress and component distortion that have been previously funded by the US Air Force over the course of over a decade will be given. The intent of this presentation is to provide the audience with background knowledge of previously conducted programs and demonstrate the methodological and logical progression of research that the US Air Force and US aerospace communities have pursued in the previous decade.
