Mr. Thomas N. Ackerson, PE, MBA , Blue Origin, Merritt Island, FL
Corrosion is responsible for a considerable percentage of metallurgical failures worldwide. Common failure modes include galvanic, environmental, and atmospheric corrosion. This talk will focus on atmospheric corrosion and will compare laboratory-based corrosion testing techniques with testing performed in outdoor exposure facilities. Ferrous and non-ferrous materials with various corrosion-preventive coatings will be discussed.
