Screw conveyors are typically used to move bulk powders from one part of a production facility to another. In addition, this equipment can be equipped with heating or cooling capabilities. We provide a case study involving failure analysis of a recently installed unit at a chemical production facility. Multiple failures and failure modes were observed during the screw conveyor’s short lifetime.
