Influence of surface preparation on nanoindentation behavior in medium-entropy alloys

In this study, we explore the small-scale mechanical behavior of both face-centered-cubic- and body-centered-cubic-structured medium-entropy alloys through a series of nanoindentation experiments on the samples whose surfaces were prepared in different manners. The statistical analysis of the results revealed how the way of surface preparation can affect the nanoindentation behavior, and the related underlying mechanism was discussed.
