Building a Better Laboratory

Over a five year period Rolls-Royce Corporation Indianapolis site embarked on a site wide capital improvement. As part of that project, three materials laboratories located at three different locations throughout the campus were consolidated into one new facility. This presentation will focus on the process of improving and building a materials laboratory that supports production, development and failure analysis while taking into consideration compromises that need to be made to support multiple stakeholders, customers, process streams and space limitations.
