Creep–Fatigue Interaction as a Dominant Fracture Mode in Gas Turbine High-Pressure Turbine Blades

The presentation will describe the metallurgical evaluation of fractures observed in HPT blades. Characterization of the fracture origin regions will be presented, including the different fracture features, local microstructural condition, evidence of creep damage, and how these findings led to the conclusion of creep-fatigue interaction.
