Brazed joints in copper plumbing systems can provide higher strength than soldered or press-fit joints, and are suitable for larger diameter pipe. However, the higher melting temperatures of brazing alloys can lead to uneven joint heating, resulting in uneven penetration of the filler metal into the joint. This talk will review the failure investigations of several projects involving leaking of brazed copper plumbing systems. – Project - 2 -
