Microbial Corrosion of a Copper Domestic Water Plumbing System

This talk will review the failure investigation for an unusual corrosion mechanism in the copper piping of a domestic cold water system. A new plumbing system was installed in a High School and leaks occurred within a year of service. Initial investigations attributed the failure to microbial corrosion, and this talk will discuss the investigation steps in determining the cause of this unusual corrosion mechanism in a domestic water system. – Project - 2 -
