Unique Thermal Spray Cabinet with High Enthalpy Plasma

To stay ahead in technology in aircraft MRO business KLM invests continuously in new innovative machine, processes and materials. Also in thermal spraying KLM has always been a leading airline. The latest procurement has been a unique robotized thermal spray cabinet with a new high enthalpy plasma spray process. This cabinet has special features like a gantry robot, infra red temperature measurement, CO2 cooling, down flow and plenum suction, 5 different thermal spray systems, versatile parts manipulation, air recirculation system, critical orifice gas flow measurement, touch screen thermal spray control system. One of the 5 thermal spray systems is the revolutionary new High Enthalpy plasma spray process of Progressive Technologies Inc. called the 100HE. This paper will show KLM’s unique thermal spray cabinet and its features and will show the latest results on coatings with the new 100HE High Enthalpy plasma spray system.
